It was just over a year ago that the (I believe) first ever Target exclusive Magic 8 Ball made its way to the shelves. Based on the number of Halloween Magic 8 Balls that regularly appear on eBay most of them ended the holiday season still sitting on Target’s shelves as well. But I think the lack of widespread awareness of this Magic 8 Ball had much more to do with Target and Mattel’s lack of promotion, then with any fault in the ball itself.

I’m not sure when purple became Halloween’s dominant color, but I know it wasn’t too long ago. Personally, I would have gone with a Jack-O-Lantern themed ball, but instead we’ve got the purple monster visible here-
