Disney Channel’s High School Musical swept the tween world by storm in 2006 and managed to survive for nearly three years (and two sequels) before suffering the fate of most Disney original programming – indifference.  Luckily for Mattel, they cranked out the High School Musical Magic 8 Ball early in 2006.  Of course, the fact that it can still be found in retail stores today kind of proves my point that the HSM franchise wasn’t really much more than Disney hype to begin with.
