Name: Magic Total Service Desk Magic 8 Ball
Release Date: 1997
Brand: Tyco
Stock Number: Unknown
I know it may seem odd to be listing what is clearly a promotional Magic 8 Ball in the Official category, but bear with me. In 1997 Tyco still owned the Magic 8 Ball and it is their sticker that is on this custom Magic 8 Ball designed for Network Associates to help them promote their (then) newly acquired Magic Total Service Desk software. Additionally, the spirit slate holds the 20 standard Magic 8 Ball answers. So even though this was clearly created as a give away as opposed to a for-profit item I believe it belongs in this category. Disagree? Feel free to leave a comment to that effect below!
Unfortunately, Network Associates wasn’t clever enough to come up with custom Service Desk answers, so you just get the standard 20-
- As I see it, yes
- Ask again later
- Better not tell you now
- Cannot predict now
- Concentrate and ask again
- Don’t count on it
- It is certain
- It is decidedly so
- Most likely
- My reply is no
- My sources say no
- Outlook good
- Outlook not so good
- Reply hazy, try again
- Signs point to yes
- Very doubtful
- Without a doubt
- Yes
- Yes – definitely
- You may rely on it
I’m really hoping to find more examples of promotional balls manufactured directly by Tyco. If you know of any please comment to let me know and if you have any available for trade or sale, you know I’ll make you the best offer
